Hot Ice Experiment
Yesterday, we carried out an investigation to make Hot Ice. However, our experiment did not work. The first time we tried we realised we had used too much water. We had used 1L of water instead of 1dL. From this we learnt that a decilitre (dL) was actually 100ml. This meant we had added 10 times too much water. We decided to try again. The experiment still didn't work. We think this could have been because:
- When we left the mixture to soak it wasn't the correct consistency.
- We may not have had 80% vinegar ( it didn't say on the bottle)
- When we slow cooked the mixture it didn't go clear.
Here is a photo of what our experiment looked like. If you click on the link you can see what should have happened.
Last week, we wrote poems inspired by the forest in Wolf Brother. We thought very carefully about the imagery in the story and how we could use these ideas to influence our poems. Today, we shared our final pieces with each other.
