18.10.18 Today in outdoor learning we were finding out about how animals and plants adapt in order to survive. We played a survival game and then we looked at how leaves are adapted.

15.10.18 Phoenix class have been practicing their times table fluency by creating related facts. These children have created these impressive lists: Jay, Maya & Josh.
10.10.18 In science today, we made periscopes using two mirrors to help Ernest Shackleton to see out of the ice cave that he had become trapped inside. We used our knowledge that light travels in straight lines to draw a diagram to show how they worked.
4.10.18 In outdoor learning this morning we had great fun making crowns out of leaves! This is linked to our history topic on monarchs.
1.10.18 Phoenix class have been practicing their fluency by completing a daily times table frenzy. These books show an example from Jay, who has completed this with an impressive 2 minutes and 20 seconds remainaing and Gemma - who is so close to completing it!
1.10.18 On a Monday afternoon, some children in Phoenix class have 1:1 maths tuition with Third Space Learning. Olivia: I find it really helpful because if you don't understand something the tutors will help you. Mia: The tutors are really kind. Maica: It's exciting! It is fun and enjoyable. Not many children get to do it.
27.9.18 During outdoor learning today we learnt about refraction, reflection and shadows. Ask your child about it. Can they remember what was happening in each of these activities?
20.9.18 Today we took part in some really fun outdoor learning with Mrs. Hoskins. We did a variety of activities to demonstrate forces and talked about how and why different forces were acting in each case.
19.9.18 This afternoon we looked at the artwork of Keith Haring. We have begun to mimic his style and we will be creating our own finished artwork next week.
