Hello, my name is Paul Crossland and I was co-opted as a governor of the Primary School when the two schools first amalgamated. However, I have a number of years of experience, I first started as a governor when my oldest son was in Year 4; he is now in his third year at University. The roles and responsibilities of governors have changed significantly over those years and to some extent I find the challenges of today as daunting as those at first. However, I still believe that every child has a right to a good education and part of that is ensuring that the funding we receive is targeted at providing the highest quality of teaching and learning and that the school environment is safe and secure for all. An important part of my role, as Chair of the Resources and Safeguarding Committee, is to ensure that we allocate resources to meet the strategic objectives of the school, to secure the best possible outcome for pupils, in the most efficient and effective way.
