We performed our songs on a very windy day to Year R. We learnt all the words, made up dances and wrote posters and invitations. We hope you enjoy the show!

Mike came into our school today and taught us all about bees!
Hartley - "There are 60,000 bees in a colony in the summer."
Kaidan - "Bees collect pollen."
Jay - Anna - "Bumblebees have wings and fat bodies."
Jack - "If a worker bee stings you it gets stuck in your body and the bee will die."

Today we did the Bunny Bounce challenge! On Monday we will find out how many jumps we did and who did the most jumps.

This morning we all went to different classrooms and completed exciting activities to do with World Book Day. The children were very kind and reciprocal by helping each other with the activities.
In the afternoon we had a Mad Hatters tea party! We ate the Queen of Hearts jam tarts that some children made for us in the morning.
Thursday 2nd March 2017 - World Book Day
Today we dressed up as a character from our favourite book! We paraded around the South Campus, had a visit from the real white rabbit from Alice in Wonderland and completed fun activities all day!

Today we visited the New Forest Wildlife Park. We saw lots of nocturnal animals and wolves and learnt new facts about them too. We had great fun!

We visited Elson Library today. The librarian talked to us about fiction and non-fiction books. She showed us where we might find these books in the library. She also read us two stories linked to our topic this half term (wolves and nocturnal animals).

Today the Hampshire Music Service came to our school and taught us about brass and wood instruments. They played some instruments for us too! We also learnt how to play the ukulele.

Today Year 6 came to visit Year 1. They shared with us some facts they had learnt about wolves. After that, in groups the children described a good wolf and a bad wolf.

This half term in PE we are learning to make shapes in gymnastics. We have been trying hard to hold our shape for 5 seconds and point our toes.

Today we went on a Winter walk outside. We were looking for signs of Winter. After that we wrote about what we saw. Here are three Hummingbirds feeling very proud of their writing.

Today we had our Christmas party! Father Christmas came to see us and delivered us some presents. We were all very excited! Our class Elf also gave us a Christmas cracker as our treat today. We wore our hats to the party!

Today we made our own Christingle. We were learning about why we make Christingles and what each part means to Christians.

We had great fun working with children in different year groups making a Christmas display for our school! We were very reciprocal and resilient today.

Today we went outside to make our own fireworks out of leaves.

This half term we have been learning all about Guy Fawkes and Bonfire night! We have also learnt the story of the Gunpowder Plot using actions to help us.
